Canton Fire Department was dispatched at 0651 to respond with Tower 1 to a working structure fire on State Highway 68 in Lisbon. Tower 1's crew arrived on scene, reported to Lisbon Command (19-1), and was tasked with setting up on the "B" side of the structure to assist in fire suppression and overhaul operations on the second floor and roof area on their half of the house. Ogdensburg Fire Quint 1 was set up on the opposite side of the house performing the same function. Both truck crews, along with ground crews, worked together to knock down the rest of the fire in the upper floor and attic area, then finished up with overhaul operations until the fire was fully extinguished.
Canton Fire Department worked alongside Lisbon Fire, Heuvelton Fire, Ogdensburg Fire, Rensselaer Falls Fire and Rescue, and Morristown Fire. Frigid temperatures that morning complicated both the firefighting operation and water supply operation. Canton Fire Department was back in service at 1112.
