Members Complete Interior Firefighting Operations

Two members have completed the NYS OFPC SCBA/Interior Firefighting Operations course. This approximately 50 hour course increases the firefighter's knowledge by building on the material taught to them in the Basic Exterior Firefighter Operations Course. Students learn to use personal protective equipment (PPE), self contained breathing apparatus (SCBA), and numerous tools used by firefighters. Students get three nights of "live fire" operations with one night of vehicle fires, and two nights of burns inside the Training Center's live burn building.
